In this project we aim to show the audience that fear can be a catalyst for restricting oneself, the effects that fear can have on an individual can be shown throughout society especially when the pandemic was at its worst. Fear is an essential part of survival but in today's society it is mostly misplaced . In this comic it shows that accepting your fear and overcoming it isn't as bad as one first thinks, in many cases it can be the key to unlocking a worthwhile life. Most of the time people are scared of things they don't need to be. eg, the water. But once you get over that fear and get rid of them restraints you begin to feel more free and that fear soon turns into enjoyment. The body isn't programed to get out of its comfort zone, it tends to instill fear in us one of the hardest emotions to overcome but every time you try something new, and allow yourself to be open to whatever experience arises, you are learning, and expanding your repertoire of life skills and self-knowledge, you grow as a person.
You may ask how this is possibly expressed in our comic, let me tell you. Noora the cat-like creature is the representation of fear. It's only when Chara stops and accepts her fear, that Noora then saves her life giving her the power to grow. The name Chara is pulled from latin origin, we picked this name because it holds the meaning free. Chara has achieved a great feat in her life and now is free from unnecessary fear/ restrictions.
